Things I’ve Bought Lately Part 2

Hello everyone!

This is part two of my blog posts showing what I’ve been buying lately. This post will focus on all the smaller things I’ve bought over time, rather than all at once like in Part 1.

I had a coupon for Wet & Wild products ones day, so I finally decided to try one of their famous Color Icon Palettes.

WWCI 1WWCI 2

This is in the shade selection “Walking on Eggshells,” and I have to say, the formula of these shadows is really good! Especially because they’re super affordable even without coupons.

The next things I bought were some new sunscreens to try!

Parasola and Shiseido UV

I bought the Naris Up Parasola Essence in UV Cut Gel and the Shiseido Q10 BG Mineral Water UV Essence. I’ve already talked about one of them in my June favorites, and I’ve since tried the other as well. I like both quite a lot!

The last few things I bought were two items from NYX!

NYX 1

I had lost my eyeshadow primer at my boyfriend’s house somehow, and I really needed one because my eyelids get super oily and eyeshadow creases very easily. Since I didn’t want to pay for a new tube of the Urban Decay primer that I lost just yet (I’m hoping he’ll find it soon, it was practically brand new!), I decided to try the NXY Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer. It’s actually quite good!

NYX 2

I also picked up a Soft Matte Lip Cream in the Shade Prague, which I’ve had my eye on since these lip creams were released! This shade is so beautiful and perfect for fall!

NYX 3

So that’s all the stuff I’ve picked up lately! I bought quite a bit, lol. What have you been buying lately? Let me know in the comments!

June 2016 Favorites!

Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while, but today I’m going to share with you my favorite things from this past month! Let’s get started!

June Favs 2016

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is the Etude House Royal Jelly Sheet Mask.

June Favs 2016 2

I bought a pack of these when I had a layover in Korea last year, and I’ve loved them since then! But this month in particular these have been working really well for me, since my skin has been a little more sensitive. It’s super soothing and gentle, and my skin always feels a lot better after using it. I definitely have to get more once I run out of these!

My next favorite is a sunscreen I purchased recently to use on my body. It’s the Naris Up Parasola Essence In UV Cut Gel (SPF 50+/PA++++).

June Favs 2016 3

I was interested in trying a new sunscreen to use on my body on the days when I won’t be in the sun too much, and this sunscreen is totally perfect for that! What I really love about it is the texture; it’s like a milky gel (hence the name) that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky film behind, which is one of the things I dislike the most about other sunscreens. It also has a very pleasant scent as well, which is very light and not noticeable after a few minutes.

My last beauty favorite is also a skincare product, and it’s a travel sized version of the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack!

June Favs 2016 4

I’ve heard so many good things about Laneige, so I’ve been wanting to try them for a while. Luckily, my Target had this travel size trial kit, which included this amazing sleeping pack! It smells really good, but doesn’t irritate my skin, which is awesome. But the best thing about this is that my skin truly feels more hydrated after using this! It goes on with a pleasant cooling sensation and dries down eventually, meaning it’s not getting all over my pillow too! I used this when my skin had both a sunburn and was super dry because of the wind, and it felt so amazing and really helped to calm down the redness. I highly recommend it and will definitely buy the full size when I run out!

Non-beauty Favorites:

My first non-beauty favorite for this past month has been these Liz Lisa 3D flower pumps!

June Favs 2016 5

They’re the first pair of shoes I bought from Liz Lisa, and I could not be happier with them! Not only does the L or Large size fit me perfectly, these shoes are also super comfortable and I just want to wear them all the time! So lately on the weekends I find ways to wear these, since I can’t wear them to the lab, haha.

My last favorite for this month is actually a collection of podcasts that are all run by How Stuff Works. I love listening to these podcasts when I’m working in the lab or at the gym! In particular, I love the Stuff You Missed in History Class podcast, which is the one I first started listening to.

But I also listen to many of their other podcasts, such as Stuff Mom Never Told You, Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know, Stuff You Should Know, and Stuff to Blow Your Mind. I really do recommend these if you do a lot of work in a lab or similar environment because they make repetitive work much more fun! I also made sure to include a link to all of these podcasts in case anyone is interested!

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments!

Products I’ve Used Up #3

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you the massive amount of stuff I’ve used up since last time I did one of these posts almost 7 months ago.

PIUP3.1

I’ve been trying to make sure I use up a lot of the items I have open, in particular skin care. And with that, I’ll show you what I’ve used up!

Products I’ve Used Up #2

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to show you all of the products I’ve used up since the last time I posted about it. I have a TON of stuff I’ve used up, and I am also getting rid of some stuff that is just too old to use or I don’t really like.  Get ready for a long post!

First I’m going to show you all the things I’ve used up, then I’ll go through all of the other stuff I am getting rid of!

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Review

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to review the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50 PA++++, which I recently bought in Japan. As you all know, I really love Biore’s UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse, and since I couldn’t find it, I decided to try out another sunscreen from Biore instead!

IMG_1654

This sunscreen is really lightweight, with a light, watery texture (hence the name “watery essence”) and absorbs quickly into the skin. It leaves a slight cooling sensation for a few seconds after it absorbs, which I think feels really good!

This sunscreen also has great sun protection and doesn’t leave a white cast, despite the high SPF, which is great as well. It can be used both under makeup and by itself! It’s really hydrating so I really love how it feels on my skin!

However, I’ve noticed that my skin has been irritated lately. I’m not sure if it’s because of this, but I’ve paired down my skincare to the products I know don’t irritate me and waited for it to calm down before using this daily again. So far it seems ok, but I’ll update this post if it turns out to truly be irritating my skin.

The Verdict:

I really like how this feels! and for those of you who don’t have sensitive skin like me, I recommend giving this a try! It’s super affordable and works really well. But I think I’m going to go back to the Watery Mousse version instead, since I know it works well with my skin.

Have you used this before? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Update 9/2/2015: My favorite sunscreen (Biore’s UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse) has been discontinued. 🙁 I don’t have backups so I guess I’ve got to find my holy grail sunscreen again! And I’ve decided to stop using this on my face. I’m pretty sure my skin doesn’t agree with it.

Does anyone know of any sunscreens similar in formula to this one? Let me know if you do, cause I need the suggestions!

Products I’ve Used Up #1

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to show you things I’ve used up recently!

I always find these kinds of posts or videos very insightful. Unless you really love a product, using up something takes a bit of effort. Especially when you’re like me and buy a bunch of things to try.

IMG_1347IMG_1348

This group of items are all skincare related. I find it very difficult to use up makeup (because I have way too much of it, yet I still buy more. Why can’t I stop?), but when I do it’ll be included in future posts like this!

I managed to finish a lot of stuff close together recently, so this is going to be quite a long list!

First up are some hand creams!

IMG_1349

I go through hand cream like no tomorrow, as I’m constantly washing my hands at home and at school. These two are the perfect size for traveling (25g) or leaving your bag so it’s easy to use them throughout the day. These two are from Crabtree & Evelyn, and are a little on the pricey side, but I find I always come back to them. One is in the Citron (honey and coriander) scent and the other is the La Source Hand Therapy. I love them both, but the one I always find myself purchasing again is the La Source one. It just smells so good and is so relaxing! If you only pick one, I would go with this!

Next up are two mascaras!

IMG_1350

One is a travel mini of Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash (something that I may want to repurchase) and the other is by CK One. I liked both of these, but I definitely prefer the brush style of the Benefit mascara versus the plastic applicator of the CK One mascara. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing that one again for that reason, but I will say that it made my lashes look really long and pretty! I just find that other mascaras with more comfortable wands do that just as well, haha.

I have also used up a tube of the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse Sunscreen.

IMG_1351

I absolutely love this stuff! It’s SPF 50+ and PA++++ so it has great sun protection and the formula also feels so great on the skin! Not heavy like the American sunscreens! It only comes in one size however, which is kind of a bummer. I like the current size for traveling as its small and easy to carry, but I wish I came in a bigger tube that I can leave at home, since I use it every day and go through it faster than I’d like. However, it’s pretty affordable, so I don’t mind having to purchase it often.

I have also used up a few lip balms recently.

IMG_1352

First is the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, which is my all-time favorite lip balm! I always have one with me and I usually buy it in multiples so that I have backups, lol. I think this is one of those products you either love or hate, and I absolutely love it!

Next is a mini size of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15. I thought this lip balm was pretty good, it was quite moisturizing and had SPF, which I really appreciate! It smells really good too! However, I’m not sure if I can justify the cost of buying this again. A full sized tube is $22 and I still prefer my Burt’s Bees lip balm as it has a longer lasting power. So I probably won’t be purchasing this again, but if you get a small mini size it’s definitely worth trying for yourself! I know some people swear by it!

Next up is a few skincare items. Some I purchase regularly and one was actually a free sample I got a while back.

IMG_1353

First I’ll talk about the free sample! This is the Shiseido Benefique NT Cleansing Foam. I enjoyed this product, as it was meant for those with dry skin, like myself! It didn’t leave me feeling like my skin was super tight after use and it had a really pleasant smell. The downside is that this line is difficult to find in the U.S. The Benefique line is only found in certain Shiseido boutiques, typically near Asian markets, which is how I got this sample. Because it’s difficult to find, I’m probably not going to repurchase this and stick to cleansers I have already, haha.

The other skincare items are two Clinique products, the All About Eyes eye cream and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+. I love both of these products and have already repurchased them many times over the past few years. The lotion is my favorite moisturizer and I love that Clinique’s products have no added fragrance, as I have sensitive skin and have to be careful with what I use.

The last group of items are two trial-sized makeup removers, Clinique’s Take The Day Off and Lancome’s Bifacil.

IMG_1354

I get tons of these little trial sized makeup removers as gifts with purchase, so I haven’t had to actually buy a makeup remover in years, haha. I’ve used both of these multiple times and I find they both work pretty well at removing my eye makeup. I feel like they are both pretty similar, but if I had to buy one I might get the Clinique remover, since it’s considerably cheaper ($18.50 vs. $39!).

That’s it for this round of used-up products! Have you guys used any of these? What have you used up recently? Let me know in the comments!
