July- October 2016 Favorites

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you my favorites for July all the way up until October. I decided to combine them because I didn’t have very many beauty favorites for each month to have it’s own post, lol.

Favs 8-10 2016

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is the Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil!

Faves 8-10 2016 2

Lately I’ve been wearing more face makeup (BB cream, foundation, etc.) so I’ve been double cleansing with this more often lately. This cleansing oil is very gentle on my sensitive skin, even though it’s highly fragranced. It smells like the apple Life Saver gummi candies, which I actually really love, haha.

My next favorite is the Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder.

Faves 8-10 2016 3

This is a dry shampoo thats in a powder from, rather than an aerosol spray can. I really love the Living Proof dry shampoo, but I just run out of it too quickly and since it’s pretty expensive, I wanted to try something else. I also had a trip coming up, so I wanted something that I wouldn’t have to worry about taking on the plane, so I picked this! I still prefer the Living Proof one a little bit more, but this one works really well and will last me forever, so I’m sticking with it, haha.

Another product I’ve been loving lately is the NYX Proof It! Waterproof Eye Primer!

Faves 8-10 2016 4

I bought this fairly recently when I lost my other primer, and it does a great job of keeping my eyeshadow in place like the Urban Decay one, but for only $6 dollars! I have very oily eyelids, ┬áso if your eyes are similar then I really recommend giving this a try. The only thing I will say though is that eyeshadow is harder to blend out on top of this and it’s a bit more difficult to remove compared to other ones I’ve tried. Using a cleansing oil takes it off super easily though so no worries!

My last beauty favorite is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette! I took this with me when I was in Maine and it was perfect for any occasion.

Faves 8-10 2016 5

I’ve featured this in my favorites before and it truly is an awesome eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadows are fantastic quality and the shades are extremely versatile. My favorite shade is Marzipan, which is a pretty rose gold color! I’ve already been making a small dent in it, haha.

Non-Beauty Favorites:

One of my first non-beauty favorites was the GOT7 Concert I went to in July! It was so awesome to be able to go to their concert, since they are one of my favorite Kpop groups!

GOT7 Concert 1

It was so amazing and I really hope to be able to go again someday! I was also lucky enough to be able to take a photo with them too!

GOT7 Concert 2

My photos aren’t the best, but it really was so much fun and I feel really lucky to be able to see one of my favorite groups perform live and meet them after!

My next favorite was another awesome trip to Maine! I went to Maine to visit my boyfriend before he moved back home, since I hadn’t seen him in person for around 6 months prior to the trip.

View from Mt. CadillacJordan Pond

We went to Acadia National Park, where I took some photos that I’ll share with you today!

So that’s it for my favorites the past few months guys! What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments!

April 2016 Favorites

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you my April 2016 favorites! There are a few new things I’ve been loving beauty-wise, so I’m really excited to share them with you today!

April 2016 Favs

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette! I bought this during the spring Sephora VIB sale since I’ve had my eye on it for a long time.

TF Chocolate Bar

And I’m happy to say that I’m sooooo glad I bought it! I’ve been using this almost nonstop since I bought it. The shadows in this palette are all great quality and very pigmented! And the chocolate scent is really cool too, haha. Every time I open it up I get a whiff and it’s so awesome! But that’s probably cause I love chocolate.

My next favorite is a dry shampoo! This is the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo

I’ve been trying to go longer between shampoos the past few months and this dry shampoo really helps with that second day grease, haha. I feel like it’s done better at making my hair look cleaner than other dry shampoos and the smell is really nice. I also appreciate that the smell isn’t as strong as other dry shampoos, because I feel like sometimes they can be overwhelming.

Non-beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is a cd! It’s GOT7’s new album, Flight Log: Departure.

All of the songs are really catchy and if you’ve seen my blog posts before you’ll know I’m a big fan of GOT7 in general. The album art is also quite pretty! It appeals to my love of girly things, hahaha. I do recommend giving them a listen if you haven’t before!

My final favorite is an app called Memrise! I’ve been learning Korean on my own and this app has been really helpful for learning vocabulary. I also use it to keep up with my Japanese, as over time my vocabulary has definitely decreased, haha.

It makes learning a lot of fun because it’s like a game, so I really recommend it to those learning a language!

So that’s it for my April Favorites! What have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments!

March 2016 Favorites

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you my March favorites! I’ve definitely been super busy with school, so unfortunately I didn’t blog much this month. Or the past few months, really. But I do have a few favorites I’d like to share with you!

March 2016 Favs

Beauty Favorites:

My first beauty favorite is this foaming cleanser I bought when I was at Marukai, which is a Japanese supermarket. I’m not really sure if there is a brand name, because even the super market just called it Whip Premium, haha. It was on special for only $5!

Whip Premium

This is the first foaming cleanser (and first Japanese cleanser) I’ve tried, and I really love the texture! It lathers up really really well and I feel like it does a great job at getting all of the dirt from my face after a long day. It also works well with my sensitive skin, which is another huge plus!

My next beauty favorite this past month has been the Urban Decay Naked Palette!

UD Naked 1

I found myself gravitating towards this palette all month, and in particular to the shades Sin and Naked. I use Sin all over the lid, with Naked in the crease, and they’re perfect for everyday makeup looks! Like the other Urban Decay shadows I have, this palette’s shadows are high quality and highly pigmented. They’re super smooth and easy to blend too!

My last beauty favorite for this month is the Canmake Your Lip Only Gloss in 01.

Canmake gloss

I bought this lipgloss when I went to Japan last year, and lately I’ve really enjoyed using it over various lip tints! It’s a clear gloss that turns pink on the lips, which looks good over my pink lip tints. The texture of this gloss is also really nice, as it’s not sticky and feels slightly moisturizing through the wear as well.

Non-Beauty Favorites:

My non-beauty favorite for this month is a new place that I visited: Portland, Oregon!

There were so many different things that I loved about this city! It has awesome public transportation, great food, and lots of parks to take pictures in.

One of the things I really loved was Washington Park and the Japanese Garden nearby! Both were so beautiful and very peaceful.

Washington Park Japanese Garden

Left to Right: Washington Park, Portland Japanese Garden

The cherry trees were also blooming and it was so pretty! I had never seen cherry blossoms in person before as they don’t grow where I live, so I was really happy that I got to experience that.

Cherry Blossoms- Portland

Another standout was the food! My sister and I ate so much, haha. We tried Voodoo Donuts as well, which was awesome! I love sweets, haha.

Voodoo Donuts

Powell’s Books was also amazing! I didn’t take pictures inside because I was just so amazed at how large the store was, but I did get a cute t-shirt!

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What have you guys been loving? Let me know in the comments!

February 2016 Favorites

Hey everyone!

I have a few favorites to share with you this month, but I almost didn’t share any because it’s mostly stuff I’ve mentioned many, many times before.

But, there are a few things that I truly have been loving, so I figured I should still share them!

February 2016 favs

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is a shadow from my much-loved Smashbox Beauty Exposed Palette, in particular the shade Marble (very center shade).

Feb 2016 favs 2Feb Favs 3

I love this palette a lot, but this past month in particular I’ve been wearing Marble almost every day! I like to wear it all over the lid with an inner corner highlight and a darker brown on the outer corner of my lash line. I’ve mentioned it many times before, but I really love this shadow and the rest of the palette too. One of my favorite purchases!

My next favorite is the brushes I use everyday! They are my Ecotools brushes.

Feb Favs 4Feb 2016 Favs 5

I have two sets, one that has two double ended brushes and one that has some that are travel sized. I use the ones shown here the most. In particular, I like using the fluffy double ended one with my Smashbox eyeshadow!

These brushes are super soft and stand up to washing very well, so I definitely recommend them! Plus, they’re super affordable too, which is always a plus!

Non-Beauty Favorites:

My non-beauty favorite for this month is the K-Pop group Ladies Code!

They’ve been a huge favorite of mine since they debuted, and when they finally had a comeback this past month after being gone so long I was super excited!

Ladies Code- Galaxy

I love the concept for the whole Mystery album as well. It’s both mature and very unique. Very reminiscent of the kind of style/concept for “Hate You,” but much more mature and grown up. I missed Ladies Code so much, so I am glad that they decided to remain in the K-pop industry. I am really proud of how strong they have been.

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What have you guys been loving? Let me know in the comments!

January 2016 Favorites

Hello everyone!

Can you believe that the first month of the new year is already over?? It went by so fast!

I have a few things that I really enjoyed using over the past month that weren’t the same-old-same-old stuff I always talk about in my favorites, so that’s what I’m going to share with you today!

Beauty Favorites:

January 2016 Favs

First up is the Soyoung concealer that I got in my edition of the K-Drama Memebox.

Soyoung Concealer 2Soyoung Concealer 3

I have the shade #01 Lovely Beige and I have to say, this is the perfect color for my skin right now! It can be hard to find base makeup that isn’t too dark for me (because I’m super pale, lol) and doesn’t also have a funky undertone, but this is just perfect! It also has pretty good pigmentation and is about medium coverage.

I’m not sure if I’m going to try other concealers when I run out of this, because I really really enjoy this formula. But we’ll see when that happens, hahaha.

My next favorite is also from the K-Drama Makeup Memebox, and it’s the Memepuffs (set of five).

Meme Puffs

I finally got to try these kinds of airpuffs, and let me tell you, I’m so glad I had the opportunity to try them! These make blending in both foundation and concealer so easy! I don’t want to use anything else any more, haha.

The only thing I don’t like is how hard they are to clean, but that’s something I’m willing to live with, hahaha.

My third favorite is actually two I use together! It’s the Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Tint in The Neutrals: #19 Peony and the Holika Holika Heartfull Glossy Lipstick in PK122 Humming Pink.

Sephora lip tint/ Holika Holika lipstick 1Sephora Lip Tint/ Holika Holika lipstick 2

I use these two products to do a slight gradient lip effect that I’ve been really loving lately! This month I wore this combo at least 3-4 times a week cause I love it so much! In fact, I’m probably going to wear it a lot this month too, haha.

Sephora Lip Tint/ Holika Holika lipstick 3

How it looks on me! Told you I was pale, lol.

Non-Beauty Favorites:

So I’ve been really into Japanese fashion magazines for a long time (my favorites are Non-no and Ray!), and I figured out that I can actually buy them off of Amazon Japan!

Amazon Japan Box 1Amazon Japan box 2

Because of this, I’ve been doing a lot of shopping, haha. I only have bought and received magazines from amazon directly (I have one order from a third party seller that ships internationally and it will come within the next week or so), so I haven’t used any forwarding services yet.

But I digress! I am so happy with the orders I bought that were fulfilled by Amazon! They come so fast and are packaged very well, so I know I will order from them in the future!

My last favorite for this month is the cell phone game Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector!

Neko Atsume 1Neko Atsume 2Neko Atsume 3Neko Atsume 4

Omg guys, this game is just amazing. You leave out food and “goodies” and different cats will come and visit! You can take pictures of them and when they leave, they give you fish so that you can buy more goodies! My sister told me about this game, and now I’m absolutely addicted, lol. It’s available for both iPhone and Android, so now everyone can get addicted like me! Hahaha!

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What are some things you have been loving? Let me know in the comments!

November 2015 Favorites!

Hey guys!

I know I didn’t share an October favorites post with you, but honestly I didn’t really have anything new or surprising to show you guys, so I didn’t bother, haha. But I do have some interesting favorites from this past month, so let’s get on with my November favorites!

Beauty Favorites:

November 2015 Favorites

My first favorite is the original Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam palette!

Pony Shine Easy Glam 1 open

If you read my review, then this probably is not a surprise, but I have been using this palette a ton lately! The shadows are just so easy to work with, and even when I use other palettes, I come back to this one just for the matte colors for my crease, such as the shadow called Easy Shade. They really are fantastic and Memebox has sales very frequently, so if you are interested I really recommend this!

My next favorite is also an eyeshadow palette I picked up this month, and it’s the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette in number 1!

MUFE Artist Palette 3

This is the first time I’ve ever tried MUFE’s eyeshadows, and I have to say, I’m impressed! These shadows are so pigmented and beautiful! I also find that they are really easy to blend, so that makes them even easier to use! I will say that some shades have quite a bit of fallout, but I feel like it’s worth it cause they’re all so pretty!

Another one of my favorites is the Chosungah 22 Dual Lip Tint & Gloss in the shade Chiffon.

Chosungah 22 Dual Tint & Gloss Chiffon 2

I’m so glad that I finally tried these out!! The tint is such a beautiful hot pink color and the gloss is a sheer peachy-pink that looks very pretty on top of the tint! I really love how bright the tint is, as sometimes tints look more intense in the tube than they really are on the lips, so I’m really glad this one is just as bright!

My last beauty favorite has been the Memebox I’m Lip Tint Balm in #CR008 Lovely Coral.

I'm Lip Tint Balm #CR008

This shade is so pretty! And it seems as if they’ve improved the formula on these, as this has a lot more pigment than the original version. They also smell a lot like the Pony X Memebox lipsticks, which is awesome! I really love to bring this with me in my bag, as it’s easy to apply even without a mirror and looks good with just about any eye look!

Non-Beauty Favorites:

My first non-beauty favorite is actually a book that’s been going around online a lot the past few months, and it’s called The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up- Marie Kondo

This book has really inspired me! I have been wanting to go through all of my things to declutter my room for a long time now, and I reading this book gave me the motivation to really make decluttering a priority! Once I have my things in order, I feel like I will have a little less stress in my life, haha.

My last favorite for this month is Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer (again, haha)!

I know I’ve mentioned this already, but this game is just so awesome! I love the Animal Crossing series, and having a game where I can just decorate everything is just so much fun! Once I start playing, it’s so difficult to stop! I’m already looking forward to playing this weekend!

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments!

September 2015 Favorites

Hey everyone!

Today I’m going to tell you what my favorites have been for the past month! Time really has been flying by, haha. I feel like it was just August and now it’s October?!?! What happened?

September 2015 Favorites

Anyways, on to the favorites!

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite this month are these brushes from Cala!

Cala Brushes 2

I have a whole review I did on them, so I’m not going to go into much detail here, but let’s just say I was extremely impressed with the quality of these brushes for the price! I’ve been using them almost every day since I got them, so when I can I’m going to stock up on some more!

My next beauty favorites are these two lipsticks.

Pony and Clinique lipsticks

One is the Pony X Memebox Blossom Lipstick in #2 Spring Romance, which I did a review of here. The other is the Clinique Almost Lipstick in the shade Black Honey. I’ve been really liking the dark, red toned lips lately (even though it still feels like summer where I live), and these two are just perfect for fall! I can’t stop wearing them!

The next favorite I have for you today is the NYX Wonder Pencil in the shade WP01 Light.

NYX Wonder Pencil

Now, NYX markets this as something that you can use all over the face in various ways, but I only bought it to use it on my waterline. I was always curious if using a nude/flesh toned pencil on the lower waterline would make a difference in how my eyes looked when I was having really bad allergy days, and I’m happy to say that it does! I was really impressed with the performance as well, since it lasted almost the whole day on my waterline. Now I feel like I look less scary when my allergies get really bad, haha.

My last beauty favorite is actually an eyeshadow from a gift with purchase palette from Clinique.

Clinique Lucky Penny

It’s the shade Lucky Penny (top left), and I feel like it’s perfect for fall! I’ve also been wearing similar shades to this the whole month as well, so I’ve been really loving the warm shimmery shades lately! And I hadn’t used this palette in a while, so I forgot just how much I loved it! The quality of Clinique’s eyeshadows are great, so if this is available as a single shadow, I’d highly recommend swatching it to see for yourself!

Non-Beauty Favorites:

My non-beauty favorite for this month is Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer!

It released the 25th, and I have been playing it constantly! I literally have to force myself to stop playing so that I can eat, haha. I’ve been a fan of the Animal Crossing series since the first one released here in the states, so I was really excited to try a new type of game! This one focuses on the design and landscaping aspect, so if that was your favorite part of the main series games, I highly recommend this!

That’s it for my favorites this month! What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments!

August 2015 Favorites!

It’s already the end of August! I can’t believe how much faster each day seems to go!

I have a few favorites to share with you guys this month!

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is this eyeshadow (on the right in the photo) from Inglot! It’s the AMC Eyeshadow Shine Square number 154 (what a mouthful!) and is this really beautiful, almost metallic golden bronze color. I’ve had this shadow for quite a while and I’ve noticed that it’s become my perfect go-to shade when I don’t know what I want to wear.

The texture of this shadow is really buttery and smooth, and is probably one of the longest-wearing shadows I have in my collection! It lasts upwards of 9 hours without creasing (with eyeshadow primer, cause nothing lasts on me without it), which is pretty amazing!

My next favorite is once again, my Naked Basics palette! I know I’ve talked about it time and time again so I won’t go into too much detail here, but I really love it so much! I really do use it every day and I can’t imagine not having it in my makeup collection!

Another favorite of mine is the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in 06 Grapefruit Jelly, which I bought in the airport in Korea! This color is just so pretty and perfect for everyday. It’s also great quality for the price, so if you’ve been looking for a great quality blush but don’t have a large budget, I really recommend this!

Non-beauty Favorites:

Still loving my tablet, but I’ve also been really loving a Kpop group this month!

I had listened to songs by Got7 ┬ábefore, but this month I got really into them! Their newest single “Just Right” made me notice them again and now I can’t stop listening, haha. I highly recommend checking them out! I recommend “Just Right,” “A,” “Girls Girls Girls,” and “I Like You.”

That’s it for my favorites this past month! What have you guys been enjoying? Let me know in the comments below!

June/July 2015 Favorites!

Hey guys!

Today I’m going to share with you some of my favorites from the past two months (as I wasn’t able to do a favorites post for June). However, I feel like there aren’t that many this time around, haha.

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is the Etude House Dreaming Swan Dear My Wish Lips Talk lipstick in the shade PP502 Releve Purple.

I bought a few things from the Dreaming Swan collection and I have to say, this is my favorite! It’s such a beautiful pinky-purple shade and I don’t have anything quite like it! It looks very flattering on my skintone (which is probably an NC/NW 15 or so, never tried MAC foundation) and I wore it almost everyday before I went on my trip at the end of June!

It’s a little on the drier side, but I actually like that. It seems to last longer on my lips that way.

My next favorite is something I bought while I was in Japan! It’s the Kate Tokyo Brown Shade Eyes in the shade BR-2.

This eyeshadow palette is awesome! The shadows are so smooth and buttery and the pigmentation is fantastic! I definitely recommend picking this up if you can, cause the quality is great for what you pay.

I use this palette quite a bit and I’ve found that it’s great for travel cause of its small size. Love it!

My last beauty favorite is the Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm! I’ve had this in my favorites before, but it’s worth mentioning again!

It’s so moisturizing and just so handy to carry around! It goes with every look and I can use it whenever I’m too lazy to go look for a mirror to reapply whatever lipstick I’m wearing for the day. It also helps that it smells amazing too. I have no idea what it’s supposed to smell like, but I love it!

Non-beauty Favorites:

Since I was traveling for long periods of time recently, I really wanted to be able to read a lot. However, books are really heavy, so I decided to commandeer my parent’s LG Tab, haha. And it was awesome! I can’t believe I’ve never wanted to try this out before!

It was definitely a great decision, cause my next favorite in this category is one of the books I started reading while traveling!

It’s the Mistborn trilogy by Brian Sanderson. Reading this helped me remember how awesome it is to read for fun! It’s inspired me to read for fun more often, haha. And of course the story is really great too! I’ve read the first book and part of the second already.

So that’s it for my favorites this time around! What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments!

May 2015 Favorites!

Hello everyone!

May has gone by so fast! I have a few favorites to share with you all this month, and some are repeats, haha. Let’s dive into it!

Beauty Favorites:

First up, is the Smashbox Beauty Exposed Eyeshadow Palette! It actually contains four eyeshadows and a highlighter, but I use that as a shadow too, haha.

I’ve had this for a few years and it’s obviously well loved, but I recently started using it more often and this month, I use it most days of the week! These eyeshadows are beautifully smooth and so easy to wear! Unfortunately this was a limited edition palette, but I know Smashbox carries other eyeshadows similar to these.

Next is the Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 3 palette in #01 Brown Bloom!

I got this not too long ago and as you know from my review in my previous post, I’m really loving it! When I’m not wearing the shadows from the Smashbox palette, I’m wearing this! The shadows are just really great quality and really beautiful. There is quite a bit of fallout because they’re so glittery, but I don’t mind, haha.

My last beauty favorite is a repeat from my March favorites, the Pony X Memebox Easy Mix Block Blush in Galaxy Pink!

This is Just a beautiful pale pink blush that’s super natural looking, making it great for everyday! Because of that, I find myself still grabbing for this blush all the time! Definitely a great blush!

Fashion Favorites:

I have two fashion favorites for you this month! Both I got from Abercrombie during a sale, haha. Personally, I only ever buy stuff from Abercrombie when they’re on sale, haha. Too expensive otherwise!

The first item I have for you is this really pretty floral kimono top!

(Obviously I don’t usually wear this with this dress, haha)

It’s super girly and I have been wearing it as much as I can this month! I love it because of the print and it’s a really lightweight material, making it perfect for layering during the summer.

The last item I have for you today is this gray cardigan. I have been wearing this non-stop! I even wore it the day I wrote this, haha.

This is just a perfect long cardigan that goes with almost anything in my wardrobe! It’s super soft and comfy and perfect for my cold office and the cold classrooms! This is probably one of my favorite sweaters of all time, and I’m so glad I picked it up!

That’s it for my favorites! What are some of your favorites from May? Let me know in the comments!
