June 2016 Favorites!

Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while, but today I’m going to share with you my favorite things from this past month! Let’s get started!

June Favs 2016

Beauty Favorites:

My first favorite is the Etude House Royal Jelly Sheet Mask.

June Favs 2016 2

I bought a pack of these when I had a layover in Korea last year, and I’ve loved them since then! But this month in particular these have been working really well for me, since my skin has been a little more sensitive. It’s super soothing and gentle, and my skin always feels a lot better after using it. I definitely have to get more once I run out of these!

My next favorite is a sunscreen I purchased recently to use on my body. It’s the Naris Up Parasola Essence In UV Cut Gel (SPF 50+/PA++++).

June Favs 2016 3

I was interested in trying a new sunscreen to use on my body on the days when I won’t be in the sun too much, and this sunscreen is totally perfect for that! What I really love about it is the texture; it’s like a milky gel (hence the name) that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky film behind, which is one of the things I dislike the most about other sunscreens. It also has a very pleasant scent as well, which is very light and not noticeable after a few minutes.

My last beauty favorite is also a skincare product, and it’s a travel sized version of the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack!

June Favs 2016 4

I’ve heard so many good things about Laneige, so I’ve been wanting to try them for a while. Luckily, my Target had this travel size trial kit, which included this amazing sleeping pack! It smells really good, but doesn’t irritate my skin, which is awesome. But the best thing about this is that my skin truly feels more hydrated after using this! It goes on with a pleasant cooling sensation and dries down eventually, meaning it’s not getting all over my pillow too! I used this when my skin had both a sunburn and was super dry because of the wind, and it felt so amazing and really helped to calm down the redness. I highly recommend it and will definitely buy the full size when I run out!

Non-beauty Favorites:

My first non-beauty favorite for this past month has been these Liz Lisa 3D flower pumps!

June Favs 2016 5

They’re the first pair of shoes I bought from Liz Lisa, and I could not be happier with them! Not only does the L or Large size fit me perfectly, these shoes are also super comfortable and I just want to wear them all the time! So lately on the weekends I find ways to wear these, since I can’t wear them to the lab, haha.

My last favorite for this month is actually a collection of podcasts that are all run by How Stuff Works. I love listening to these podcasts when I’m working in the lab or at the gym! In particular, I love the Stuff You Missed in History Class podcast, which is the one I first started listening to.

But I also listen to many of their other podcasts, such as Stuff Mom Never Told You, Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know, Stuff You Should Know, and Stuff to Blow Your Mind. I really do recommend these if you do a lot of work in a lab or similar environment because they make repetitive work much more fun! I also made sure to include a link to all of these podcasts in case anyone is interested!

So that’s it for my favorites this month! What have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments!

Huge Japanese Magazine Haul!

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you the huuuuuge Japanese magazine haul I did over the past month and a half. I didn’t buy all of these at the exact same time, but since it was all close together I decided to show you guys!

The first round of magazines I purchased were from Amazon Japan, and it was the first time I had ever bought anything from it before. These particular issues were fulfilled by Amazon, so they shipped very quickly, which made me happy, haha.

Amazon Japan Box 1

I was also really impressed with the packaging! They seal the magazines in plastic onto a piece of cardboard, which is then put into the box so that they don’t move around and get bent during shipping!

Amazon Japan box 3

Like this!

J-Magazines round 1

I got: Ray Nov. 2015, Non-no Jan. 2016, and Non-no Dec. 2015

The next round of magazines I purchased at Kinokuniya and Book Off! I kiiiinda maybe went overboard and bought 5 at one time, but I say it’s ok cause two were only $1! So cheap! But that’s cause they’re really old, but they were issues that I was missing in my collection, so I was really happy to see them there.

J-magazines round 2: Book Off

From Book Off I got: Non-no Oct. 2014, Ray May 2014 (Both for a dollar!)

J-magazines round 2: Kinokuniya

From Kinokuniya I got: Ray, Ray Feb. 2016, More Feb 2016

Tights from More

This issue of More came with a pair of grey tights from 17°C!

After using Amazon Japan successfully the first time, I got a little magazine-crazy and decided to buy some older issues from late 2015 (cause I had missed their release before) from a third-party seller that offered international shipping! The shipping was kinda expensive, but since several of the magazines were only 1 yen, I figured it was ok, haha.

J-magazines round 3

I got: Non-no Sept. 2015, Oct. 2015, Nov. 2015

Can you tell that Non-no and Ray are my favorite? Hahaha!

More recently I also bought 2 more that were fulfilled by Amazon.

J-magazines round 4

I got: Ray Jan. 2016 and Non-no Mar. 2016

So that’s it for my magazine haul! Can you tell that I might have a magazine addiction? Hahaha. I know this is quite excessive, but I collect these magazines and display them, so that’s why I buy so many. And although I bought so much recently, I know I will probably buy more within the next few months.

Do you guys read Japanese magazines or collect other stuff? Let me know in the comments!

May 2015 Favorites!

Hello everyone!

IMG_1366IMG_1365

May has gone by so fast! I have a few favorites to share with you all this month, and some are repeats, haha. Let’s dive into it!

Beauty Favorites:

First up, is the Smashbox Beauty Exposed Eyeshadow Palette! It actually contains four eyeshadows and a highlighter, but I use that as a shadow too, haha.

IMG_1368

I’ve had this for a few years and it’s obviously well loved, but I recently started using it more often and this month, I use it most days of the week! These eyeshadows are beautifully smooth and so easy to wear! Unfortunately this was a limited edition palette, but I know Smashbox carries other eyeshadows similar to these.

Next is the Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 3 palette in #01 Brown Bloom!

IMG_1367

I got this not too long ago and as you know from my review in my previous post, I’m really loving it! When I’m not wearing the shadows from the Smashbox palette, I’m wearing this! The shadows are just really great quality and really beautiful. There is quite a bit of fallout because they’re so glittery, but I don’t mind, haha.

My last beauty favorite is a repeat from my March favorites, the Pony X Memebox Easy Mix Block Blush in Galaxy Pink!

IMG_1369

This is Just a beautiful pale pink blush that’s super natural looking, making it great for everyday! Because of that, I find myself still grabbing for this blush all the time! Definitely a great blush!

Fashion Favorites:

I have two fashion favorites for you this month! Both I got from Abercrombie during a sale, haha. Personally, I only ever buy stuff from Abercrombie when they’re on sale, haha. Too expensive otherwise!

The first item I have for you is this really pretty floral kimono top!

IMG_1371

(Obviously I don’t usually wear this with this dress, haha)

It’s super girly and I have been wearing it as much as I can this month! I love it because of the print and it’s a really lightweight material, making it perfect for layering during the summer.

The last item I have for you today is this gray cardigan. I have been wearing this non-stop! I even wore it the day I wrote this, haha.

IMG_1372

This is just a perfect long cardigan that goes with almost anything in my wardrobe! It’s super soft and comfy and perfect for my cold office and the cold classrooms! This is probably one of my favorite sweaters of all time, and I’m so glad I picked it up!

That’s it for my favorites! What are some of your favorites from May? Let me know in the comments!

March 2015 Favorites

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe March is already at it’s end! Every month seems to go by faster and faster, haha. I have a few things I’ve been loving this month that I’d love to share with you!

IMG_1263

Beauty Favorites:

The first favorite this month is the Etude House Sweet Recipe Chocolate Eyes Palette. This as a limited edition release for Etude House’s Spring 2013 collection (I believe). I recently have been wanting to wear makeup that doesn’t require any fuss, and this is perfect! It has 3 shades of matte brown, all of which have a smooth, buttery texture. I really love using the lightest shade all over my lid as it is dark enough to add a little definition without being too strong.

IMG_1266IMG_1264IMG_1265

It’s also in the shape of a chocolate bar! I love that the most, haha! I forgot how much I liked this when I first bought it!

My next favorite is the Pony X Memebox Easy Mix Block Blush.

IMG_1112IMG_1120IMG_1132

I’ve really been enjoying this recently because it’s a very subtle color that looks great on my skin tone (I’m ridiculously pale). Because of that, it’s been really great for everyday! It also has this really pleasant floral scent to it, kind of like the sent of the Benefit boxed blushes. However, because it’s so light, I’m not sure that this would look good on people with darker skin tones.

I also have been loving the Skinfood Black Bean Eyebrow Pencil in the shade #05 Grey Brown that I bought not too long ago.

IMG_1192IMG_1193IMG_1195

I was worried about the color being to dark for me, but I shouldn’t have been! The color is perfect! It lasts all day and the spoolie is very helpful for blending out the product to a nice, natural finish. I use it everyday!

And my last beauty favorite is the Memebox I’m Tint Balm in the shade #01 True red, which I recently reviewed here. I just found myself reaching for it all the time this month and I love using it!

IMG_1123IMG_1124

Fashion Favorites:

These American Eagle shorts!

image (2)

For some reason I put off buying a new pair of denim shorts, even though my old pair did not fit me at all anymore, but this month I finally got a new pair! They’re very comfortable (the material is stretchy) and the wash I got goes with everything! They’ll be great to have this summer as it’s already getting pretty hot where I live, so I see myself wearing them constantly.

I have been wearing them a lot this month already, usually with tights when the days are cooler and on days I go to school (since my legs need to be covered in the lab). I’m really happy I bought them!

That’s it for this past month! What have your favorites been? Let me know in the comments!

Small Shopping Haul!

Hello everyone!

I’ve done some shopping recently, both online and at the mall. So, I’m going to show you what I got today!

The first place I bought some stuff from is the eBay shop AlphabeautyUK.

IMG_1248

I got some more of my favorite sunscreen, the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse Water Base. This is probably my fourth or fifth tube of this stuff! It’s definitely my favorite facial sunscreen! I’ve found that sunscreens from the US are always really greasy and don’t sit well under makeup, so when I tried this I was hooked! It sets matte and also has a really nice citrusy scent.

IMG_1250IMG_1251

The next thing I got was this silicone face mask, by Daiso. It can be used over a regular sheet mask to help it stay on your face and also keep it from drying out too quickly. I just thought it would be super fun to try after seeing a few YouTubers using them. I’ve used it already and I really like it! A lot of sheet masks don’t stay on my chin very well, but this helped a lot.

It looks absolutely terrifying though! Hahaha

IMG_1249IMG_1252

The last thing I got from the store was a microfiber hair turban. I got the color Macaron Purple, which is super pretty! I figured this would be good to use around the house or when I’m on trips, since I don’t want to walk around with a huge towel on my head. I don’t blow dry my hair (I’m too lazy), so I thought this would be good to keep it from dripping all over the place, haha.

At the same time, I ordered an eyeshadow palette from f2plus1 on eBay (also known as beautynetKorea.com). I got the Etude House Give Me Chocolate Shadow in the shade #2 Salted Caramel.

IMG_1267IMG_1268IMG_1270

I think this looks so adorable! The shades are really pretty too! The packaging is stronger than the last chocolate themed eyeshadow palette I bought from Etude House (the Sweet Recipe Chocolate Eyes palette), which is good. This is so nice and travel friendly!

I also picked up some hair clips from H&M.

IMG_1255IMG_1256

Nothing too fancy, but the price and size were good ($2.95 for a set of 4).

The last thing I bought was this floral maxi skirt from Hollister.

IMG_1275IMG_1276

I’ve never owned a maxi skirt or dress, but when I saw this one I thought it was super cute so I tried it on. I loved it! So it came home with me, haha. I also got it 40% off in store, but you can still buy it here for full price. I would try to get it on sale first though.

That’s it for my haul! I’m really happy with all my purchases, haha.

Have you guys bought anything recently? What was it? Let me know in the comments!

My Favorite Looks for Spring!

Hello!

Today I want to share with you some spring fashion inspiration! I love spring fashion so much! All of the stores start carrying pastels and beautiful floral prints and it just makes me want to go shopping!

So, I thought I’d look at what’s popular in my Japanese magazines and then try to recreate them for you here!

The first roundup is based on this outfit worn by the model Mirei Kiritani. I feel like this outfit is great when it’s still cold out, but you could substitute the sweater for a lighter top once it gets warmer.

My version:

I really love this outfit as well! I thought it was great for days when it’s still a little chilly in the mornings.

Non.no 2015-4 3

My version:

Pretty Floral

Items can be found by clicking below (except the dress):

This next outfit would also be great during the summertime! Can you tell I’m a little obsessed with floral prints?

Non.no 2015-4 2

My version:

Spring Floral

Items can be found by clicking below:

This last outfit is a little on the simple side, but still gives that spring feel!

Non.no 2015-4 4

My version:

Simple Yellow

Items can be found by clicking below:

I decided to include an option for more casual days (on the left) and one for slightly dressier events (on the right) without being over the top.

So that’s what styles I’ve been loving for spring! I know they’re super girly, so they won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I find them really fun!

Where do you get your inspiration for spring fashion? Is your style as girly as mine? Let me know in the comments!!

February 2015 Favorites

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk to you about my favorite for this past month.

I cannot believe how fast February flew by! School has been super busy for me, so I haven’t gotten around to doing the reviews I have lined up. I’ll try and get some done this weekend though, I promise!

Anyways, on to the favorites!

Beauty Favorites:

First up is the VELLA Fresh Creamy Soap, which came in the Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! Memebox.

IMG_1097IMG_1098IMG_1100

This face wash is so gentle! I have quite sensitive skin and this hasn’t caused me to break out of get any red spots on my face, which is great! It also feels great on the skin and isn’t too drying, so I’ve really been loving it lately! I only use this at night, since I shower in the morning and this style of packaging isn’t really that great for the shower. I’ll have a full review of this product soon!

Next is the e.l.f. Angled Eyeliner Brush. This is part of their studio collection.

IMG_1199IMG_1200

I’ve seen this style of brush around a lot but I didn’t understand how it would make lining my eyes easier. It looked like it would just make things more difficult, haha. However, once I tried this, I realized why people us this style of brush so much! It makes using gel liner a breeze! Even cat eyes are easier using this brush. And the brush itself is pretty great quality for the price. I really recommend it!

Another item I’ve been loving is the Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 2 Palette that I got in my Pony Memebox.

IMG_1115

I just love the colors in this! They’re so sparkly and pretty and are easy to wear! And the brush included is actually useable, which is a plus! The pink and the purple are really making me excited for spring too! I’ve been using the palette quite a bit this month, and I have a review and an eye makeup tutorial for this coming soon!

My last beauty favorite is the Shara Shara Lemon Honey All-In-One Cream, from the same Memebox as the cleanser.

IMG_1088IMG_1089

This smells so good! Light and fresh, haha. It also absorbs really easily into the skin, so I use it almost every day! That’s rare feat for me, since I can get really lazy about putting on body lotion. I really wanna try some of the other scents this comes in, but I’m going to wait until I run out of this first. I will have a full review of this coming soon!

Fashion Favorites:

What I’ve really been loving (besides my favorites from last month– still wearing those a ton!), is this sweatshirt from Forever 21.

IMG_1197

(Like my whale blanket?? So cute!)

This sweatshirt is so cute!! I love gray and I love floral print, so this fit right in with all my other clothes, haha. It’s a really nice lightweight material which is great for where I live (we don’t get snow or anything like that during the winter), and it feels really well constructed for how cheap it was ($22.90). If you’re interested, you can still buy it from their website here.

One thing I do want to say though is that the sleeves are a little on the tight side. If you don’t like how that feels, I would suggest going a size up. Otherwise, it’s great! I’ve worn it quite a lot this month!

Non-beauty Extra:

Non-no Magazine! (pictures from my copy of the April 2015 issue)

IMG_1201IMG_1202

Non-no is a young women’s fashion magazine published by Shueisha in Japan. I have been reading this magazine since I started college (a long time ago), and I really love it! The always have such fashionable outfits! The style is also really girly, which I enjoy because I don’t see that as much where I live.

IMG_1203IMG_1204

I also love the hair and makeup tips/ideas too! It’s just really fun for me to read and gives me a chance to practice my Japanese.

IMG_1205

If you have a Japanese bookstore where you can pick one up, I highly recommend it! They’re a lot of fun!

That’s it for my favorites this month! What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments!

January 2015 Favorites

Hello everyone!

January has been quite a busy month for me! Because of this, I haven’t been changing up my makeup routine all that much this month, haha. There are a few things that have been my go-to products and today I’m going to share this with you!

The first product is the Urban Decay Naked On the Run palette!

imageimage_1

This palette has such beautiful eyeshadows that I find that I’ve been reaching for it almost daily. In particular I’ve been using Dive and Fix (the two left-most shadows) tons! Like the rest of the eyeshadows I own from Urban Decay, these are really high quality and are so easy to wear!

image_2

I’ve also really been loving my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette! It’s so easy to travel with and I have taken it with me on every trip I’ve been on since I received it. I use this every single day and it really shows in my picture, haha.

Fashion Favorites:

image

I have been loving this pair of brown booties my boyfriend got me! The color is beautiful and I always get complements when I wear them! And for being heeled, they are actually quite comfortable. I can wear them all day at school without my feet hurting at all, so I’ve been wearing them quite a bit!

image_1

I got this Hollister jacket on clearance last summer and had been eyeing jackets like this for a while now, but I have no idea why I didn’t buy it sooner! I wear this almost every day because it goes with just about everything in my closet. It’s also perfect for layering because it’s lightweight and I can choose to wear a sweater underneath or the jacket on its own.

Non-beauty Extra:

Fantasy Life 3DS

One game I’ve been loving is Fantasy Life for the Nintendo 3DS! This game is so adorable!!! I love cute games, so when I saw pictures of this I knew it was right up my alley. I have been totally obsessed with this game since I got it last Christmas and I really recommend it to any of you that enjoy cute RPG-style games.

That’s it for my January Favorites! What have your favorites been this month? Let me know in the comments!!
