Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad Review and Swatches

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe how busy I’ve been lately! I really meant to review the Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad (in #1 Brown Bloom) for a while now, but school got super busy this past month.

So, today I’m going to review it for you guys!

First of all, isn’t the packaging for this gorgeous?! I’m totally in love with the gold and white combo! Even the box it comes in has a beautiful floral print that just screams spring! The gold part is a magnet for fingerprints though.

This palette comes with four eyeshadows (at 6.5g total, including the packaging). You can purchase it for $18 at the Memebox website. These eyeshadows have quite a unique texture, as they feel sort of buttery and creamy, but are still really soft. There are two glam shades (shimmery) and two shine shades (glittery). This palette has a good balance of shades for all sorts of looks, whether it’s for day or night.

From left to right: Glam Nude Beige, Shine Brown, Glam Fair Brown, and Shine Midnight Brown

I will say that all of these shades have some glitter in them. The shade Glam Nude Beige is matte with glitters, and Glam Fair Brown has a really intense glittery finish. That being said, there is a lot of fallout with these shadows, so I would recommend doing your eye makeup before any foundation or base makeup. Using a sponge tipped applicator is also recommended.

I do really love the shade selection though! I feel like they are all easy to wear and look really really pretty! If you love glitter and shimmery shades, this is a definite winner!

I feel like the lasting power on my oily eyelids is also good, but I still use a primer underneath to help the shadows stay vibrant all day.

The Verdict: I love this palette! The colors are gorgeous! But I would say that you can’t apply it all willy-nilly. They require a bit more care so that you don’t have glitter all over the place. If you don’t like shimmer and glitter, I wouldn’t recommend this palette, but for those of us that do (like me), it’s definitely worth the price!

What do you guys think? Are you interested in this palette? Let me know in the comments!

Products I’ve Used Up #1

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to show you things I’ve used up recently!

I always find these kinds of posts or videos very insightful. Unless you really love a product, using up something takes a bit of effort. Especially when you’re like me and buy a bunch of things to try.

This group of items are all skincare related. I find it very difficult to use up makeup (because I have way too much of it, yet I still buy more. Why can’t I stop?), but when I do it’ll be included in future posts like this!

I managed to finish a lot of stuff close together recently, so this is going to be quite a long list!

First up are some hand creams!

I go through hand cream like no tomorrow, as I’m constantly washing my hands at home and at school. These two are the perfect size for traveling (25g) or leaving your bag so it’s easy to use them throughout the day. These two are from Crabtree & Evelyn, and are a little on the pricey side, but I find I always come back to them. One is in the Citron (honey and coriander) scent and the other is the La Source Hand Therapy. I love them both, but the one I always find myself purchasing again is the La Source one. It just smells so good and is so relaxing! If you only pick one, I would go with this!

Next up are two mascaras!

One is a travel mini of Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash (something that I may want to repurchase) and the other is by CK One. I liked both of these, but I definitely prefer the brush style of the Benefit mascara versus the plastic applicator of the CK One mascara. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing that one again for that reason, but I will say that it made my lashes look really long and pretty! I just find that other mascaras with more comfortable wands do that just as well, haha.

I have also used up a tube of the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse Sunscreen.

I absolutely love this stuff! It’s SPF 50+ and PA++++ so it has great sun protection and the formula also feels so great on the skin! Not heavy like the American sunscreens! It only comes in one size however, which is kind of a bummer. I like the current size for traveling as its small and easy to carry, but I wish I came in a bigger tube that I can leave at home, since I use it every day and go through it faster than I’d like. However, it’s pretty affordable, so I don’t mind having to purchase it often.

I have also used up a few lip balms recently.

First is the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, which is my all-time favorite lip balm! I always have one with me and I usually buy it in multiples so that I have backups, lol. I think this is one of those products you either love or hate, and I absolutely love it!

Next is a mini size of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15. I thought this lip balm was pretty good, it was quite moisturizing and had SPF, which I really appreciate! It smells really good too! However, I’m not sure if I can justify the cost of buying this again. A full sized tube is $22 and I still prefer my Burt’s Bees lip balm as it has a longer lasting power. So I probably won’t be purchasing this again, but if you get a small mini size it’s definitely worth trying for yourself! I know some people swear by it!

Next up is a few skincare items. Some I purchase regularly and one was actually a free sample I got a while back.

First I’ll talk about the free sample! This is the Shiseido Benefique NT Cleansing Foam. I enjoyed this product, as it was meant for those with dry skin, like myself! It didn’t leave me feeling like my skin was super tight after use and it had a really pleasant smell. The downside is that this line is difficult to find in the U.S. The Benefique line is only found in certain Shiseido boutiques, typically near Asian markets, which is how I got this sample. Because it’s difficult to find, I’m probably not going to repurchase this and stick to cleansers I have already, haha.

The other skincare items are two Clinique products, the All About Eyes eye cream and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+. I love both of these products and have already repurchased them many times over the past few years. The lotion is my favorite moisturizer and I love that Clinique’s products have no added fragrance, as I have sensitive skin and have to be careful with what I use.

The last group of items are two trial-sized makeup removers, Clinique’s Take The Day Off and Lancome’s Bifacil.

I get tons of these little trial sized makeup removers as gifts with purchase, so I haven’t had to actually buy a makeup remover in years, haha. I’ve used both of these multiple times and I find they both work pretty well at removing my eye makeup. I feel like they are both pretty similar, but if I had to buy one I might get the Clinique remover, since it’s considerably cheaper ($18.50 vs. $39!).

That’s it for this round of used-up products! Have you guys used any of these? What have you used up recently? Let me know in the comments!

Another Small Shopping Haul!

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to share some of the makeup that I bought recently. (I seem to keep buying more and more, don’t I? Haha)

First up, the Dior Color Reviver Balm (Lip Glow) in the shade 01.

This is the original pink color that they came out with, which I have been eyeing for a while. I love how it changes color! So cool! And it smells amazing too, haha. I love it so much that it’s made an appearance in my April 2015 Favorites!

Next is the Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad in the shade #01 Brown Bloom.

I thought this would be so pretty for everyday makeup. So far I’m really enjoying it as well! I’ll have a review up soon once I’ve tested it a bit more. And isn’t the packaging just gorgeous?!

I also picked up the Pony X Memebox Blossom Lipstick in the shade #02 Spring Romance.

When these were announced I was so excited! The packaging is great for these too! I loved the promo images for this color and I had nothing else like it in my makeup collection, so I decided to get this shade. So pretty!

The last thing I bought was the Pony X Memebox Pony Nails Pastels set.

It comes with all 5 pastel shades of nail polish which are perfect for summer! I’ll wear them all year though because I love pastels, haha.

The shades are:

#05 Mellow Daisy

#06 Vintage Rose

#07 Love Mint

#08 Blooming Bouquet

#09 Sweetly Floral

Unfortunately the blue one (Blooming Bouquet) got a crack in the side during shipping, but it’s still useable. The back just doesn’t look as pretty as the others, haha.

That’s it for my haul! Have any of you tried these? What would you like to try yourself? Let me know in the comments!

April 2015 Favorites

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to tell you what my favorites have been this month. I haven’t posted on here very much as life has been quite busy, but I still have a few things to show you! However, some of them you may have heard of before since I’ve been loving the same things recently, haha.

My Beauty Favorites:

The first thing is actually two products I love to use together! It’s the Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint in the shade OR201 Peach, layered with the Dior Lip Glow in 01 on top. I love how these look together! They create this beautiful, shiny, peachy-pink color that’s very flattering on me! The Dior Lip Glow also helps my lips stay moisturized, as the Etude House lip tint can be a tad drying.

The next item is the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I know this has been in my favorites before, but I truly love it! I use it every single day and the shadows are a great compliment to all of the other shadows in my makeup collection. And of course, as with all the shadows from Urban Decay, these have great pigmentation! Definitely will but this palette again once the shadows run out!

I’m also still loving the Shara Shara Lemon Honey All-In-One Cream! It just feels so great on the skin and soaks in so easily! I want to buy this one again for sure!

My Non-Beauty Favorites:

My Moleskine weekly planner! This thing has kept me so organized when it’s been so hectic this past month, it’s wonderful!  I love how there is space to write notes on each day and space on the right for general notes. I feel like keeping a planner (of any kind) if super helpful for graduate school. It keeps me from forgetting due dates for assignments, which is what would have happened if I hadn’t been writing them down in here.

That’s it for my favorites for April! What have you been loving? Let me know in the comments!
