Urban Decay Triple Threat Travel Pencil Set: Smokey Matte Edition Review and Swatches

Today I’m going to review something I bought at Sephora during Black Friday!

The Urban Decay Triple Threat Travel Pencil Set: Smokey Matte Edition ($19) was not part of the ten dollar deals Sephora had for Black Friday, but as I had been eyeing the set for a while, I decided to get it. You get 3 travel size liners (at .08 g each) in three smoky, matte shades.
UD TTL Swatches
Top to bottom: Sabbath (deep navy), Perversion (blackest black), Smoke (deep gray)
I’m really glad I picked these up! All of these liners are really creamy and easy to apply and last almost the whole day on my oilier eyelids. Eventually there is a little bit of smudging, but that happens no matter what eyeliner I wear, even with a good primer on underneath.
All of the colors in this set are very easy to wear as they are all neutrals, but I would have to say my favorite one is the gray liner in Smoke. It’s not too dark or harsh against my skin tone and wearable for everyday makeup looks. Perversion will be perfect for those days when I want to go really dramatic with my eye makeup, since it is one of the darkest black eyeliners I’ve ever tried.
The verdict: I love these! I’m so glad I got them because now I have some really great eyeliners in a few shades for the price of one full size liner. The texture is very nice and I really recommend this set to those that are looking to try Urban Decay for the first time!

Review: Sephora Precision Makes Perfect Mini Airbrush Set

So I picked up this sponge duo from Sephora on Black Friday (see my haul here) and today I’m going to review it!

First of all, I love the size and color of these! They’re so small and cute!
Second, they are really easy to use. All you have to do is wet them and wring them out, then dip it into some foundation in your palm. After that, dab foundation all over the face and blend it out!
These sponges are extremely soft and feel really gentle as you blend out your makeup, which is a big plus for me! My foundation also looked extremely smooth, which is great cause I usually get dry patches that show up on my forehead. It does make your foundation blend out a little sheerer, but it’s also quite easy to build it up in layers using this sponge. I also tried these using only concealer on my dark circles, and it blended my concealer into my bare skin perfectly.
One downside however, is that these sponges are a little difficult to clean thoroughly. I am able to get the make up out, but it takes a bit more effort than makeup brushes I have used in the past. And of course, using fingers is even easier to clean up, haha!
The verdict: I really like these! Even if they take a bit more effort to clean, they make applying foundation and blending it out extremely easy. the effect is very natural and smooth, which is how I like it!
Has anyone else tried these? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Sephora Black Friday 2014 Haul!

I got a few things from Sephora last Friday!

I can’t wait to try these out! Whenever I wear foundation or bb cream I use my fingers, but I thought I’d see if sponges can give a natural effect as well. And they’re so small and cute!

  • Origins Task Maskers

I haven’t tried anything from Origins before, so I decided to pick up this small set! I have pretty sensitive skin, so I really hope they work out. Travel sizes like this are really great for trying new products.

  • Philosophy Purity Made Simple

This product I decided to pick up because I ran out of a travel size I had before. I wanted to have some on hand for when I’m really lazy in the evenings and don’t feel like using a separate eye makeup remover, haha.

This wasn’t a special Black Friday item, but I had been eyeing it for a while. I really love Urban Decay and I wanted to try out some the other shades of eyeliner they had. So far I’ve used the shade Smoke (a deep matte gray) and I really like it!
